Utility Budget Plan
The City of Lyons allows customers in good standing to enroll in a “budget plan” in order to level their payments throughout the year. The previous 12 months’ worth of utility bills is averaged to determine a monthly payment. Anyone wishing to enroll in a budget plan must have a zero balance as of June 25, as the budget plan runs from July 1 through June 30. If you have never been on a budget plan and wish to be put on the list for this service, please 402-687-2485
Once on a budget plan, the customer may not skip payments and may not have a delinquent payment more than three times.
Previous years’ budget customers, please note the following changes to the process:
- We will automatically recalculate your monthly payment for billing beginning in June unless you notify us prior to June 25 that you wish to be removed from a budget plan. Your monthly bill may change as of the July 9 billing cycle.
- The utility billing system is not designed to automatically handle skipped payments, regardless of the credit shown on the bill; therefore, skipped payments will no longer be allowed. We apologize for any inconvenience, but this will allow us to continue to provide accurate and timely billing for everybody.
