Mission Statement
We are a small community committed to serving its residents and welcoming new people to raise their families here. We are proud of our past, but focused on our future to make our little town the best it can be, where all of its citizens can thrive!

History
Back in 1866, Josiah Everett and his three brothers settled in the vicinity of what eventually became the community of Lyons. Shortly after, two other families homesteaded close by. Lyons is named after a settler by the name of Waldo Lyon who purchased a large piece of land upon which the town was built. In April of 1884, Lyons was incorporated.

Lyons is located in northwestern Burt County along Highway 77 between Fremont, Nebraska and Sioux City, Iowa.
